Candidates
- Democratic candidate:
- Ted Kulongoski - incumbent. (governor's website) (cw)
- Republican candidate:
- Ron Saxton (cw) - 2002 candidate.
- Pacific Green candidate:
- Joe Keating (Pacific Green) (cw)
Prognosis
- Kulongoski survived two primary challengers: State Treasurer Jim Hill and Lane County Commissioner Pete Sorenson. In the Republican primary, the wingnuts split their votes between Mannix and Atkinson, leaving moderate Saxton as the nominee. Independent candidate Ben Westlund was a former Republican, who had genuine support, but he withdrew from the race in August. Oregon's gubernatorial election leans Democratic.
Results
- Lulongoski won 53-41%.
