Linda J. Miller is a Republican Member of the Iowa State House of Representatives who prepresents District 82. She defeated incumbent Republican Joe Hutter in the 2006 Republican Party primary election and then went on to win in the general election, see Iowa State House elections, 2006. Miller received financial backing from Iowans for Tax Relief, a right-wing anti-tax group.
Miller's platform includes supporting the 65% solution for education, lowering property taxes and eliminating the Pension Tax and the tax on Social Security income, as well as bringing more jobs into Iowa.
She is the founder of a fundraising consulting firm, and has worked as a nurse and clinic administrator. She has served on several charitable foundations, as well as particpating in a local Rotary Club chapter.
Linda and her husband Dr. Harold Miller, a family practice physician, have six children. Physicians earn compartively large incomes because of the structure of the U.S. health care system.
