Governor
- Kathleen Sebelius (D) - Incumbent. (cw)
- Challenger: Jim Barnett (R) (cw)
- Outlook: Sebelius is popular and she is seeking a second term in 2006. Her running mate in 2006 is Mark Parkinson, a former chairman of the state Republican party who recently switched to the Democratic party. Barnett's running mate is Susan Wagle, who has criticised higher education.
- Results: Sebelius won 58-41%.
Attorney General
- Phill Kline (R) - Incumbent. (cw)
- Paul Morrison (D) - Johnson County DA (cw)
- Outlook: Morrison just switched parties so that he could challenge the ultra conservative Kline. Morrison's co-chairman is Mark Parkinson (see Gov. race), who also switched parties.
- Results: Morrison won.
Secretary of State
- Ron Thornburg (R)
- Challengers:
- Robert Beattie (D)
- David Haley (D)
- The Democrats were nearly tied after the primary. Thornburg easily defeated a primary challenger, Kay O'Connor, who thought that women shouldn't vote.
Commissioner of Insurance
- Sandy Praeger (R) - Incumbent (cw)
- Bonnie Sharp (D) - State Rep. (cw)
