George Antuna

From dKosopedia

George Antuna is the Republican Candidate for Texas State House of Representatives district 118. He had two primary opponents John Lujan and Steve Salyer. He defeated Salyer in a runoff with more than 80% of the vote.

Antuna, if elected, would be the first republican to win in district 118, which was vacated by Carlos Uresti to run for the Texas Senate. Supporters say Antuna can win because of the strong republican growth on the northside of 118 and because his ethnicity (hispanic) will allow him to make inroads in the traditionally democratic southside.

Antuna is a native of South San Antonio and graduated from UT-San Antonio. He worked, most recently for US Senator Kay Baily Hutchinson. Prior to this, he was employed by the Lt. Governor and Texas Secretary of State.
