Chet Culver

Chet Culver is the Democrat Governor of Iowa, and he was Iowa's Secretary of State from 1999-2006. He was born in 1965, and worked as a high school teacher before winning the race for Sec. of State in 1998. He is married with two children. His father, John Culver was a Congressman and US Senator.

Chet Culver was elected Governor of Iowa in 2006, following Tom Vilsack. He chose Patty Judge as Lt. Governor, after she withdrew from the Governor's race and endorsed him. He was defeated in the 2010 gubernatorial election by Terry E. Branstad.
