User talk:Yellowdawg

From dKosopedia

Dear Yellowdawg:

There's nothing inaccurate about describing Clark as the only candidate who has publically said that he is a liberal. As soon as the other candidates do so, then they too can be listed as having said so. Until that time, it is entirely accurate to say that Clark is the only one who fits in this category.

If you can find me a public statement from any of the other candidates declaring that they are a liberal or a progressive, then I will be happy to list them in that category. Until then, I think you should revert the page back to the way it was.

I personally checked with the Kucinich campaign, because I thought that at least they would be willing to go on record as being liberal. Guess what. No. Here's a piece of that e-mail thread: Original Message-----

Hello Rich,

Thank you for writing. I think Dennis is a person who does not like labels all that much. I think he may have also referred to himself as a Green Democrat in the past. He is a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

I have forwarded your message to staff to see if someone has an official answer for you.

In hope and peace,

Gail Heyn Volunteer Kucinich for President http://www.kucinich.us/

-[Liberal Thinking] sent a message using the contact form at -http://kucinich.us/?q=contact. - -Does Dennis describe himself as a liberal or a progressive? I've seen -him called a liberal in the media, but it doesn't show up in his -biography or discussion of the issues on this website. - -I'm producing a list of candidates for a liberal website and I would -like to list him as a liberal or progressive if he describes himself -that way to the public.

This was followed by the following message:

I think Dennis was quoted in an article during the 04 campaign as saying what other people think of him is not his business. I tried to find that the other day and the link was dead. I don't recall exactly which article it was now.

I did forward your request; but I usually do not know if someone replies. Have you looked over his issues? Do they look liberal to you?

I'd be happy to see some evidence that any other candidate has publically declared themselves to be liberal or progressive. I put a special place on the page for them.

Thanks for the Talk Radio page. Hope it sends some people to the Progressive radio stations page.
