Talk:Workshops
From dKosopedia
- Should this primarily be dKossers discussing public policy? It's both too narrow and too broad. It skews the discussion away from our core competency (Internet communities and organizing) and includes everything policy related.
- plemeljr: I think that we need a good mix of introspection, policy, organization and activism for this convention to work.
- mijita: I don't know anyone there myself, but maybe we can get some people Camp Wellstone (part of the Paul Wellstone Action foundation http://www.wellstone.org/camp/category_page.aspx?catID=3752 to put on some of their grassroots training. I think that would be more useful than public policy discussion. At least I'd find it very useful. Looking at their website, they seem to have different tracks, including some for candidate training.
- plemeljr: I like the idea of Camp Wellstone, but I think we can have both policy and action. One feeds the other.
- pbsustain: I'll third the Wellstone folks and offer our county as an example of how to organize locally in a rural area, swing county. We raised $$, visibility Gore won the county by 260 votes, Kerry by 3,656 and lots of locals won too. WE can put on a hands on/how to workshop.
