Sipples 17:05, 30 May 2004 (CDT) - It's there as a demonstration of the triviality that is Fox. May also lurch into a mini discussion on GLBT trends in the entertainment industry. (The United Kingdom's winner happens to be gay.) I think it ought to stay.

- Sipples 17:20, 30 May 2004 (CDT) - Huh? I didn't create that page, but I think it's defensible. It's also a case of a compromised voting system, by the way. And I predict one or the other (or both) political conventions in 2004 will use some "talent" from that show. It's more important, at least to modern politics, than William Taft. Let it be.

And considering there are Ph.D. dissertations on the social impacts of Buffy the Vampire Slayer — as there should be — I think three paragraphs or so on American Idol isn't too much. Besides, how the heck are America's youth going to get engaged in the political process if this place is only about the Hamurrabi Code? (That's a fine article, by the way.)

Sipples 17:53, 30 May 2004 (CDT) - While I acknowledge there ought to be some way to remove stale pages, I don't think objections to the scope of coverage make sense right now. Let's see where this experiment goes. It's not like "extra" pages are doing anyone harm.
