Tulsi Gabbard Tamayo

Tulsi Gabbard Tamayo, a member of the Democratic Party, was elected to the Honolulu City Council to represent Council District 7 in 2010. District 7 includes Kalihi, Salt Lake and Foster Village.
Tamayao was a represenatative in the Hawaii State House of Representatives, elected in 2002 to represent the 42nd Representative District. The 42nd District includes the areas of Waipahu, Honouliuli and Ewa on the island of Oahu. However, because Tamayo was a member of the National Guard's 29th Infantry Brigade, which was mobilized on August 16, 2004 for a year-long Iraq tour that started on February 2005, she did not run for re-election in 2004.
