Troller

A troller is the lowest form of Internet troll: one who admits or understands that they do not mean what they say, and engage in provocation for amusement or for sport. As put on one board detailing tactics for this, "it's their sad lifestyle choice!".

Such people are not seeking to form any dissensus like ethical trolls or to cohere with others into a New Troll point of view. They are "just trolling" in the sense of fishing with bait: Do not bite.

It is an administrator error to over-react to such tactics, especially when practiced by opponents such as freepers or spin doctors, who usually are probing to determine which statements get rational, and which irrational, answers.
