Tom Vlassis

From dKosopedia

Tom Vlassis is an Iowa Democrat, and a former member of the Des Moines, Iowa City Council. He was a board member of Central Iowa Employment and Training Consortium, but he resigned in the wake of a scandal. In a notable burst of honesty, Vlassis said, "I was there to be a rubber stamp, that was my function." Vlassis refused to resign from the City Council, in spite of the fact that more than 6500 people signed a petition demanding his resignation.

Vlassis was defeated for re-election to the Des Moines City Council on December 1, 2009.
