It is interesting to find myself included on this website. To be sure, I did get an Olin fellowship to fund the writing of a book on the 1964 East African army mutinies. However, my politics are my own and neither my teaching nor my book has a particular ideological agenda. Sometimes funding is just funding. I'm not even sure what a "Straussian" is, although I suppose I could guess.
