Position:the state has no place in the bedroom

From dKosopedia

The position that the state has no place in the bedroom is taken by some Democratic Party candidates and also by Log Cabin Republicans, Green Party and Libertarian Party supporters.

In Canada former Prime Minister of Canada Pierre Trudeau, as Justice Minister, famously said, in 1967:

"The state has no place in the bedrooms of the nation."

Since the Criminal Code of Canada is uniform across that country, and there was at that time no Canadian Constitution but there was a Canadian Bill of Rights, there was no right of appeal by the provinces against this decision.
