Suzanne Sinclair

From dKosopedia

Suzanne Sinclair was a candidate for the United States House of Representatives. She ran as a Republican in the Second Congressional District of Washington against incumbent Democrat Rick Larsen.

Sinclair was one of three Republicans vying for the party's nomination. The primary election was held 14 September 2004, with Sinclair winning the nomination and moving on to face Larsen in the general election on 2 November 2004. She received 34% of the general election vote, far below Larsen's 64%.

Suzanne Sinclair has been the elected Island County Auditor since 1998. She has a pretty good reputation as a fair and open manager of her office. It struck some local Democrats as a rather quixotic decision on her part to run against the popular Rep. Larsen. She talks a line of moderation and fiscal conservatism and is close to many local Democrats in the Coupeville area. Her primary opponents are more reactionary "right-wing" Republicans.
