Staci Appel (D) is a member of the Iowa State Senate. She was first elected in 2006 by winning the open seat in Iowa Senate District 37, which covers all of Warren and Madison counties, and a portion of southern Dallas County. Ms. Appel lives in rural Ackworth, where she is a mother of five, community volunteer, and former financial consultant. See Iowa State Senate elections, 2006.

Her husband, Brent Appel, is a Justice on the Iowa Supreme Court.
