Shaylene Iseri-Carvalho, is a Kauai County councilmember who was elected for the first-time to public office in 2004. Iseri-Carvalho is a prosecuting attorney. Iseri-Carvalho is the only newcomer on the seven-member council having ousted incumbent Joe Munechika in the 2004 election.

One of Iseri-Carvalho's stated priorities during the 2004 elections included working on the Kauai's crystal methamphetamine problem with prevention, enforcement and treatment programs.
