Rose Vasquez

Rose Vasquez is employed at the Principal Financial Group as the company's Diversity Consultant in the Human Resources Department. She is currently the Executive Director of the Polk County Human Services Planning Alliance, serving as an "executive on loan" from Principal Financial Group, as a part of the Greater Des Moines Partnership's Project Destiny. Vasquez joined Principal in 2002. Prior to that she served as the director of the Iowa Department of Human Rights from 1999-2002, and as Assistant Attorney General in the Iowa Attorney General's Office from 1985 to 1999. Vasquez is a native of Moline, Illinois and earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa and her law degree from Drake University.

She was appointed to the Iowa Board of Regents in 2004.
