Robert W. Schaffer

Robert W. Schaffer is a former Republican Congressman from Colorado. He was first elected to Congress in 1996, then reelected in 1998 and 2000. He fulfilled a term limits pledge by not seeking reelection in 2002. In 2004, Schaffer was an unsuccessful candidate for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate.

In 1987, when he was 25 years old, Schaffer was appointed to fill a vacancy in the Colorado State Senate, where he went on to serve for nine years.

Schaffer advocates school vouchers, and he is currently serving on the Colorado State Board of Education. He has voted in favor of a charter school owner who contributed to his 2008 Senate campaign. (Source: Wadhams Blasts "SleazeNow," Schaffer Attacks Continue)
