Randy Daniels

Randy Daniels was appointed in 2001 by New York Governor George Pataki to be New York Secretary of State, the top elections and regulatory office in the state. That appointment made Daniels the highest ranking African-American in NY state government. In September 2005, Daniels stepped down as Secretary of State to run for the New York governorship in 2006.

Daniels continues to serve as vice chairman of the SUNY Board of Trustees.
