Citing Sources
There seems to be a general problem people have citing sources. No matter what the legal ramifications are, plagiarism is morally wrong. It also makes ensuring that copyright infringement isn't occurring much more difficult. -- RobLa 16:40, 30 May 2004 (PDT)
Known problems:
- James Monroe
- Probably many other U.S. Presidential articles. In investigating closer, they have probably been copied from http://www.whitehouse.gov, so they are probably public domain, but still, attribution is important. -- RobLa 16:40, 30 May 2004 (PDT)
- --Pyrrho 16:49, 30 May 2004 (PDT) I just deleted that text, there is no ambiguity. If there is some error, then it can be explained and rectified. But I say your comment on this and deleted the text, not as an admin... just as a user deleting obviously copyrighted text. That's serious and not up to debate! You issue on citations is also very important... maybe do some diaries at dkos as well as keep pointing that out here.
- Condoleezza Rice
- Other Wikipedia articles aren't properly cited. Talk:Vote:CopyingFromWikipedia has my recommendations for citation text. -- RobLa 16:40, 30 May 2004 (PDT)
