Paul Evans is an Oregon Democrat and a former two-term mayor of Monmouth. He is running for the State Senate in District 10, see Oregon State Senate elections, 2006. He is a member of the Air National Guard, and he will be deployed to Afghanistan on election day.

Paul Evans was born in Salem and raised in Monmouth. At the age of 18, Paul was elected to serve his community of Monmouth as a City Councilor, one of the youngest leaders in the nation. After graduation from Western Oregon University, Paul joined the United States Air Force.

Evans is an educator at Western and Oregon State University, and he is also a volunteer fire-fighter. He and his wife, Joan Mooney, attend Monmouth Christian Church, and they have one daughter.
