Governor/Lt. Governor.

Incumbents Bob Taft (R) and Bruce Johnson (R) are not eligible to seek re-election.

Blackwell only got 56% against fellow Republican Jim Petro.

Strickland is the front-runner on the Democratic side. His background as a minister gives him crossover appeal. He is a popular and well-known legislator and an excellent campaigner.

Secretary of State

Incumbent Ken Blackwell (R) is running for governor.

Auditor

Incumbent Betty Montgomery (R) is running for Attorney General.

Attorney General

Incumbent Jim Petro (R) ran for Governor.

Democrats Chandra and Dann were both excellent candidates, but Dann won convincingly.

State Treasurer

Republican Jennette Bradley was recently appointed to this position and she was pro-choice. She lost a close primary to O'Brien.
