North Liberty, Iowa

From dKosopedia

North Liberty is a city in Johnson County, Iowa and it is one of the fastest growing cities in the state. Located between Iowa City and Cedar Rapids, North Liberty is part of the Second Congressional District (IA-02).

In 2006, Dave Franker (D) won a write in campaign for mayor. The losing candidate Matt Bahl contested the election, and after the election was over he received more than $30,000 in donations from real estate developers to finance that challenge. Eventually, Franker's election was upheld; however, he resigned in March 2007.

Former mayor Claire Mekota was personally involved with a large development project.
