Talk:Money Changes Everything
From dKosopedia
I was part of the active movement to Stop Sinclair regarding airing of Swift Boat documentary disguised as News. Money changed it all when I, along with thousands of others called and emailed advertisers in local communities where affiliate stations were to run this. While some protesters used the word boycott, others indicated great objection with suggested loss of client support. These advertisers varied from small local franchisers of Honeybee's to Capital One, as well as smaller local business establishments. Stop Sinclair was effectively organized so that in accessing their site, links were enabled with complete information as to local affiliates and advertisers and all get-to information, and pertinent imput. I did receive supportive email from Capital One, and other large advertisers assuring me of their awareness and responsibility to public outrage, and only one negative response from a local Florida furniture store that felt I was trying to harm a small family owned business. This, I responded to with respect. There are many ways to effect change quickly and meaningfully where money talks...and this was one of them. Much more can be done.
A great comment, thanks :-) I have lots of big ideas I am working on, with the data we are collecting we will have tons of flexibility to use it however it needs to be used. I am going to be posting a much-needed revamp of the site hopefully tonight, or tomorrow morning which will bring more information into play.
thanks again... -d
