Mississippi U.S. Senate election, 2008

MIssissippi will have two U.S. Senate elections in 2008. In the first race, incumbent Republican Thad Cochran is running for reelection, while the second race is a special election to fill the remainder of former Sen. Trent Lott's term, which runs until 2012. During the first part of 2008, Lott's seat was held by Roger Wicker (R), who was appointed by Mississippi Governor, Haley Barbour (R).
