Mililani Trask

Mililani Trask, is a leader of the Hawaiian sovereignty movement and a political speaker and attorney. Trask founded Na Koa Ikaika o Ka Lahui Hawai'i, a native Hawaiian non-governmental Hawaiian sovereignty organization. Outside of Hawai'i, Trask was a member of the Indigenous Initiative for Peace and helped author the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and was elected vice chair of the General Assembly of Nations of the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization. Trask also worked and studied under the guidance of Mother Teresa of Calcutta for seven years.
From 1998 – 2000, Trask was elected to the Office of Hawaiian Affairs as Trustee at Large.
Mililani Trask is the younger sister of activist and writer Haunani-Kay Trask. Her grandfather David Trask and uncles, David Trask Jr. and Arthur K. Trask were also very active in Hawaiian politics. [1]
