Mark J. Bennett, a former assistant U.S. attorney, former partner in the law firm of McCorriston Miller Mukai MacKinnon, who has also served as Hawaii Republican Party attorney in 2002, was named attorney general in December 2002 by Governor Linda Lingle.
Bennett was born and grew up in Brooklyn, New York and has lived in Hawaii for more than twenty five years.
