Liane Levetan

From dKosopedia

Liane is a former successful CEO for DeKalb County, Georgia. She served in the Georgia state senate from 2002-2004, retiring in 2004 to emerge as a strong player in the race for Georgia's 4th Congressional district. In spite of some battering from fellow candidate Cathy Woolard, she expected to make it to a runoff, and indeed won second place. However, Cynthia McKinney managed to get over 50% of the vote, and avoided a runoff, leaving Levetan in the dust.

In 2007, Liane Levetan resigned in protest from her position on the 200-member Carter Center Board of Councilors upon publication of former President Jimmy Carter's book, “Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid".[1]
