Keith Fitzgerald

From dKosopedia

Keith Fitzgerald is a Democratic candidate for the Florida State House. Fitzgerald is running in District 69, which contains the city of Sarasota and part of Manatee County. [1] As of August 2006, Fitzgerald has outpaced his Republican opponents in fundraising and is considered by many to have a significant chance at winning the race to replace current Republican Representative Donna Clarke, despite a significant Republican registration advantage. [2]

Fitzgerald is also a political scientist specializing in American politics with a focus on institutions and public policy. He is the author of Face of the Nation: Immigration, the State, and the National Identity, and is one of the country's leading experts on immigration politics and policy. Following a stint at Grinnell College, since 1994 Fitzgerald has been a professor of political science at the New College of Florida. He received his B.A. from the University of Louisville and his Ph.D. from Indiana University.
