Background
Kalani English, a member of the Democratic Party, was first elected to the Hawaii State Senate in 2000 representing the 6th Senatorial District. Sen. English has since been reelected to the 6th district in 2002 and 2004. The 6th district includes east and upcountry Maui and the islands of Molokai, Lanai, and Kaho'olawe.
