Josh Green

Josh Green (born Feb. 11, 1970), a member of the Democratic Party, represents the 3rd Senatorial District in the Hawaii State Senate of the Hawaii State Legislature. The 3rd District includes the North and South Kohala, North and South Kona areas of the island of Hawaii, in the state of Hawaii. In the 2004 elections, Green was elected to the Hawaii State House of Representatives. In 2008, he was elected to the Hawaii State Senate.
Green received his medical degree in 1997 from Penn State University. Green also attended Swarthmore College. Before winning elective office, Green was Medical Director and Physician at the Kona Salvation Army Clinic, practicing family medicine.

Stances on Issues
According Project Vote Smart, Green received a grade of F from the National Rifle Association.
Green is known for his highly anti-smoking stance yet accepted the fact that bars had lost substantial income from the 2006 smoking ban and introduced house bill 2900 in 2008 which would have allowed for tax credits due to economic hardship. The bill was unsuccessful.
Green received a score of 3 on a 1-5 scale by Small Business Hawaii.
Senator Green is highly supportive of pro-gay legislation.
The Sierra Club of Hawaii give Green a 73 rating on a scale of 0-100.
