John Pappajohn

John Pappajohn is a venture capitalist who specializes in the health care sector. He is based in Des Moines, Iowa and New York, NY. He has funded a series of entrepreneurship centers in Iowa universities.

Pappajohn has an amazing personal story. He arrived in the U.S. as an immigrant, and he had to repeat kindergarten because he couldn't speak English. Then, his father died when he was 16, and he and his brothers worked to support the family. Because the family didn't have much money, the siblings pooled their money, and took turns attending college until they all graduated.
