Republican Joey Brush was elected to the Georgia state senate, district 24, in 1996, after serving 2 terms in the house. After years of allegations of extramarital affairs, and a sepration from his wife in late 2002 Brush lost his July 20, 2004 primary to Jim Whitehead.
