Joe Seng (D) is currently serving his first term in the Iowa Senate. He represents Senate District 43, which includes Davenport and Scott County. Before being elected to the Senate, Senator Seng served one term in the Iowa House of Representatives.

Senator Seng serves on the Appropriations, Business and Labor, Natural Resources & Environment, and Ways and Means Committees. He is also Co-Chair of Agriculture & Natural Resources Budget Subcommittee.

Senator Seng is actively involved in his community. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus, NAACP, Terrace Hill Board, and President of Marquette Academy.

Senator Seng has received many awards and recognitions. Some of these include Past Presidents Award from the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association and the Golden Apple Award from the Marquette Academy.

Senator Seng graduated from Lost Nation Community High School. He earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University. He is currently a veterinarian in Davenport.

Senator Seng has one daughter, Heidi Anne Seng, and one grandson, Gavin Joseph Seng.
