Jim Pitts (short for James L. Pitts) is a founding principal of DC Navigators.
He was the executive director of the Financial Services Coordinating Council among other organizations.
He was the Chief of Staff to former Senator Spencer Abraham (R-MI) and senior adviser to the Senate Budget, Judiciary and Commerce Committees.
Pitts also was the Deputy Assistant to the Vice President and Director of Political Affairs (1990-1993) under the Geroge H.W. Bush administration. Prior to that, he also held positions such as Special Assistant to the Vice President and Deputy Director of Advance (1989-1990), Special Assistant to the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (1986-1988), and Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Congressional Relations (1985-1986).
In 1995, Pitts became the deputy publisher of The Weekly Standard.
