Jiang Hongbin

From dKosopedia

Jiang Hongbin is a Chinese National People's Congress Deputy from the province of Heilongjiang. On March 11, 2007, he made international news by demanding that a Starbucks outlet be removed from a side hall of the Forbidden City so it "can no longer be allowed to taint China's national culture." Source: n.a. "Chinese Lawmaker Want Starbucks Ousted." My Way News & Associated Press. March 11, 2007. News Report. Notwithstanding 25 centuries of uninrterrupted Chinese civilization, objections to Starbucks suggests that some Chinese legislators may worry that the authenticity of their claim to China's historic glory may be weak.
