James Marlow

James "Jim" Marlow is a Democratic candidate for the U.S. Congress in Georgia's 10th congressional district in Northeast Georgia in the upcoming Special Election on June 19 to fill the vacancy left by the death of Congressman Charlie Norwood (R) on February 13, 2007. He is one of three Democrats, six Republicans and one Libertarian in the unusual special election, with a run off likely in July. The University of Georgia in Athens, a satellite campus of Gainesville State College in Watkinsville and the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta are all in the district. Marlow received the endorsement of the 10th district Democratic party county chairs at a recent meeting in Habersham County.[1]
A native of Lincolnton, Georgia, Marlow worked in the sales staff of Lotus (which later became part of IBM), and worked for Yahoo as a marketing executive.[2] He has four sons, Tyler, Zachary, Carson and Parker.
His father, Buddy, served as Mayor of Lincolnton. James graduated from Lincoln County High School. James graduated from Georgia Southern in 1983 with a degree in marketing. While in college, James served as a Congressional Intern for former U.S. Congressman Doug Barnard, who represented Northeast Georgia for many years.
