James M. Kurtenbach (R) is an Associate Professor of Business at Iowa State University. He served in the Iowa State House from 2002-2006, but after Stewart Iverson's surprise resignation, he was nominated to run for the State Senate, see Iowa State Senate elections, 2006. He lost that race to Rich Olive.
