Henry M. Paulson Jr. is the United States Secretary of the Treasury. He was nominated by President George W. Bush on May 31, 2006. Before that, he spent seven years as the Chairman and CEO of Goldman Sachs, a major Wall St. investment bank.
Paulson has a longstanding interest in environmental issues. He is the outgoing president of the Nature Conservancy, and he and his wife have given nearly $1 million to a political organization affliated with the League of Conservation Voters.
He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1968 and Harvard Business School in 1970, then worked for a short time in the Pentagon.
