Gregory D. Stumbo

Gregory D. Stumbo (D) is the Attorney General of Kentucky. He was first elected to that position in 2003. Prior to being elected Attorney General, Stumbo was elected to 12 terms as a State Representative and was Kentucky’s longest-serving House Majority Floor Leader. When first elected House Majority Floor Leader in 1985, Stumbo was the youngest Majority Floor Leader elected in the nation.

Stumbo and his wife Mary have three children.

Corruption

After an investigation by Stumbo, Kentucky Gov. Ernie Fletcher was indicted on multiple charges. In August 2006, he agreed to a plea bargain in which he admitted wrongdoing in state hiring practices, but avoided prosecution.
