Ginny Burdick was elected to the Senate District 6 seat in 1996, and was re-elected in 2000 and 2004. Previously she served on the Land Conservation and Development Commission from 1987-1993, appointed by Governor Neil Goldschmidt, and served as vice-chair for four years.

Burdick is a native of Portland. She attended Chapman and Bridlemile Schools and is a graduate of Wilson High School. She received her BA from Puget Sound and her Masters from the University of Oregon.

Burdick is Senior Counsel/Public Affairs at Gard & Gerber, a Portland advertising and public relations agency. She has served on the Oregon Board of The Nature Conservancy, the Oregon Board of NARAL, Emanuel Hospital’s Council of Associates and the Program Committee of the City Club of Portland.
