• comment (d2 at 43rdstateblues) - Shouldn't dems be framing success/failure of the Bush Social Security privatization scare as a litmus test for his 'mandate'. If and when it fails, a frame should be in place to make this, together with only a 51% voter majority from '04 elections, stand as an argument (progressives should say proof') that Bush never really had a mandate. That's largely what happened with rethug spin after the failure to pass Clinton's healthcare reform package. It's late on a friday, but I didn't want to lose the thought. More later, eh?
