Field research on Republicans

From dKosopedia

Please report anecdotal field research on Republicans here. Keep stories separate.

fictional example

Someone ahead of me in line at McDonald's ordered three quarter pounder cheeseburgers and a diet Coke. I wondered why they would order only one drink for three people. But then he sat down and began eating it all himself. I held down my gorge and sat down beside him like it was a coincidence. He said something to me that was kind of funny, so I followed up and eventually asked him why he was ordering a diet Coke with all that fat? Why bother? I expected he'd say he actually liked the taste of diet Coke or was diabetic. But no, he said "I know it's bad, but it's easier to cut down on the drinks than the food, and you've got to start somewhere." I asked if politics was the same. He said "yeah, I voted all Republicans in 2000 but in 2004 I only voted for Bush."
