I don't see anything objectionable about the article as it stands. It might be improved by citing the actual words of those who give any indication of how they would flesh the term out. One of the glories of such a term from the standpoint of those who do propaganda is that if X says, "I support family values!" Y will interpret X's words to mean that X supports what Y regards as proper family values. Z will do the same thing. But it is quite likely that X, Y, and Z have different sets of values. Somewhere I read a description of the prototypical families described in the Old Testament -- starting, if I remember correctly, with the question of who the sons and daughters of Adam and Eve took as de-facto husbands and wives. Presumably the "family values" folks would not take Onan is a poster child, nor would they take King David as their role model for sexual morality. So the question becomes: Which families in the Bible exemplify "family values," and on what authority do you chose family X over family Y? p0m 22:34, 10 July 2006 (PDT)
