Drinking Problem?
- On August 26, 2006 Tinsley was arrested for public intoxication by the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Department. See Case # 03D02-0612-CM-01665.
- On December 4, 2006 he was arrested for DWI in Columbus, Indiana whith a blood-alcohol level of 0.14, nearly twice the level at which a driver is considered intoxicated in Indiana. He posted $755 bond. See Case # 03D02-0612-CM-01701.
- Among Tinsley's less amusing but now impressively ironic strips is one in which a drunken driver attempted to avoid arrest by claiming to be related to the Kennedy family.
- His behavior was mocked by Stephen Colbert on the December 14, 2006 broadcast of The Colbert Report. Colbert compared Tinsley's caricature of Jon Stewart to the drawings of Jews in The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. Compare the portrayal of Stewart in Mallard with this image: Holocaust Museum.
