-Pyrrho CSTAR, no I think we should have the page. I was thinking how to link it from the main page. It seems to fall under issues. But latino politics is not about "civil right" as if every ethnic or cultural politic is about that groups civil rights. It may fit there but I'm saying it occurs to me the generalization is an index for cultural politics. I say also "cultural" rather than ethnic because I think articles on other cultural groups might be possible, youth politics, rural politics, addressing issues of interest to these subgroups (and thereby of interest to us all). Does that make more sense? I was thinking that a cultural politics index should go in the "butter" section of "issues" on the main page.
NEW: Pyrrho CSTAR... where do you think we should add latino... from civil rights? Doesn't seem quite right. It's as if we need a cultural politics index and put that on the front page.
Pyrrho CSTAR, sorry I missed your comments late October! I'll be more careful checking for messages there. You are right on both counts. The latino page sounds good, if you create something I'll help figure out how to link it into the main page (maybe two clicks from the main page... or if we discuss it a new section there)... also, on the Islamofascism page we removed it several times and eventually I struck it out as a kind of statement. It should just be deleted now. cheers, I'll try to pay closer attention to my talk page. (you can also contact me via replying off topic at dkos).
cheers
CSTAR, yes, let's try to sift through this and attribute any and all comments. Not to sound paranoid, but a wiki needs good care. Who knows what freepers or wingnnuts might hop on and start to seed it with bad info. Gotta stay on top of this. Good to be working with you. (I'll also move your comment to my Talk page) Fredfish
Good catch on the FEC quote. Maxomai
CSTAR, sorry have been able to help out more recently. Will not be able to until Monday as I'm on the road. Will try to check in every once in a while. Fredfish 17:23, 14 Oct 2004 (PDT)
From Crackrabbit: Yeah, we have a lot of work to do. I'll put a link at the top to an open page that can be used for submissions and from which we can cull info. Do you have any suggestions for a style guide? Oh, and is this what you were looking for: http://blog.johnkerry.com/blog/archives/003343.html#003343
Glad you're back, CSTAR. I'm on the East Coast, and it's Friday night, so I have to go drink beers now. I'll be back sometime tomorrow. Good luck dealing with the Hannaford situation mentioned here.

Good job
CSTAR, thanks for the info. Good job at keeping the folks at bay. I *knew* it would be a matter of time, and was surprising it didn't happen sooner. It's one reason I only told folks about it on Kos, and not on other public forums.
When I get back, perhaps I can get kos to give me edit privs. Anyway, for now I'll post some things here for you to look at in case it's usable:

"One guy I spoke with at Rubins, Case, Cambiano & Bryant (a law firm) said that they would pull their ads for the day the show ran, but would continue running the ads they had already paid for, but (get this) they were adding a "crawl" on the bottom of their ads chastising "WB62" for interfering with the democratic process. They are running that "crawl" until Nov 2nd. He said that if "WB62" refused to run their modified ads that they would sue."
Hannafords are reinstating their advertising! see below"
We would like to keep you updated on our status related to the Sinclair Broadcasting concern.
Effective immediately, we have reversed our decision to pull our advertising from WGME. We recognize that WGME has been put in an untenable position. It was never our intent to politicize this issue even more, or to punish WGME. We are in the supermarket business, not the political business. We have always made our media buying decisions based on our customer demographic, and will continue to do so.
We truly apologize for any frustration or confusion this may have caused you. We appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.
Sincerely,
Wendy Gilliatt

I think we should considering deleting the advertisers that have pulled out. It might be best to follow the lead of BoycottSBG.com and post a list of the top targetted advertisers:

- Has there been any indication that printing the names of those who have pulled is problematic? Otherwise, we should definitely display who has taken a stand, and those who have not. Freedom of information. Fredfish 19:39, 17 Oct 2004 (PDT)
--Centerfielder 08:07, 23 Oct 2004 (PDT) CSTAR, oops, you're right about the "More" link. fixed.
I think you're right about a final edit, I'll leave the details to you since you seem to have a plan. It was fun, wasn't it? --Crackrabbit 18:55, 26 Oct 2004 (PDT)
CSTAR, regarding Islamofascism, I wouldn't mind seeing the article deleted altogether, but it'll probably reappear. Isn't it also a problem on the Wikipedia site? --Centerfielder 18:25, 4 Nov 2004 (PST)
