Craig Benson

From dKosopedia

Businessman Craig Benson was elected governor of New Hampshire in 2002, trouncing State Senator Mark Fernald by promising to veto any tax increases (Fernald's main campaign promise was that he would enact a state income tax) and spending $12 million of his personal fortune. Benson succeeded Democrat Jeanne Shaheen, who chose to run for the U.S. Senate instead of a fourth term.
