Clark McLeod

From dKosopedia

Clark McLeod is the founder and former CEO of McLeodUSA, a telecom firm located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In the aftermath of the dot com bubble, his firm has filed for bankruptcy twice, wiping out the life savings of many local investors.

Mr. McLeod was found guilty of illegal stock trading in a lawsuit filed by New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer. The suit claimed that McLeod was granted preferential allocations of shares in hot IPOs, in exchange for directing his firm's business to Salomon Smith Barney, and that he made $9.4 million dollars from the deal.
