Talk:Church and State

From dKosopedia

--Pyrrho 11:11, 10 Aug 2004 (PDT) pastordan... I'm mulling over how to add the atheistic/secular ideas about Church and State, which I think also divide in two... the tollerant and intollerant, with the former being the American Tradition and also the more progressive view. Thought I'd warn you since this is a good article already and maybe you have a preference as to how I approach it. I love your stuff by the way.

Principle of separation between church and state

If a state has an official religion there is a danger of tyranny. However a state without spiritual contact is a purely material state. A purely material state is hindered in making decisions because even thinking processes which involve creative imagination must be considered as non-material. Thus, the principle of separation of church and state is not truly benevolent. "Principle" here is defined as the source of energy which motivates an action.
