Chuck Larson, Jr.

From dKosopedia

Chuck Larson Jr. is a Republican attorney from Cedar Rapids,Iowa. He served in the State Senate, and spent 12 months in Iraq. He was a former chairman of the Republican Party of Iowa, and in 2004, he was a Bush Ranger, raising over $200,000 for President George W. Bush's re-election campaign.

Chuck Larson graduated from the University of Iowa Law School in 1996. He is the General Counsel for the ESCO Group – a technology services firm.

He retired from his State Senate seat in 2006, but he definitely has his eye on higher office. To that end, he founded Families United, a multi-state group that supports the Iraq War. The group helped pay for a TV ad in Minnesota featuring Larson - the commercial argues that the people our troops are fighting in Iraq are the same cads responsible for the 9/11 attack. These ads were produced in association with Progress for America.

He also founded a humanitarian group called Iraqi Hope, which gathered about $100,000 in school supplies and other materials for Iraqi citizens.

Larson joined with Sen. John McCain on a four-city tour of Iowa in April 2006. As it happens, McCain's top strategist, Terry Nelson, used to be Larson's roommate at the Univ. of Iowa.

President George W. Bush appointed him as the Ambassador to Latvia in 2007.

He is married with one young child.
